Ya..., it's been a while hasn't it..?


Well a lot of things have changed. I've been caught up in life and haven't had the chance to model anything in a long while. Though I have opened up Illustrator and had been pulling in Contract jobs in order to pay some bills. Most of.. ok all of the work was for a clothing company that had a European automotive niche. Here are a few of the recent designs I've made for them. I hope you enjoy.

68 Pontiac Firebird in Progress

Looks like I have to add another piece to my portfolio for my midpoint review. I have started modeling a 68 Pontiac Firebird. When I purchased the blueprints, it was labeled as a 68 Camaro. Yes the two look similar until you come to the headlights and tail lights.

Here some quick screenshots of what I have so far.. I am just getting started and hope to have this down by June 15th. We will see how much I can get done..

Final Renders!!

Well here is a big update, I first started off with really poor looking HDR renders, I spent several hours today going over my HDR, Materials/Shaders.. I literally redid everything three times.

Anyways, I am currently going through with the 90 Frame batch render to compile together to make the turntable mov. file. I really can't wait to submit this model. It by far was a great experience, never had I worked with NURBS before and I must say that I really do enjoy them now. This summer I am going to try to model out another car. Haven't really decided yet on which one, but I have some time.

Here are a few final renders.. We were asked to add scratches and other flaws into the paint.. thats why it looks "blotchy"

Here is the completed project.. 90 frame turntable Oh yes it took me 18 hours to render out the AO pass and HDR passes together. I then placed them into Adobe Premiere and exported the images into a .mov file..

Finals week!!!

Oh my gosh, so it's week of finals.. Ahhhhhh *pulls out hair* hurry up and render.. WWHHHYYYY SOOO SLLLOOWWW!! Well enough of that.. Here are some sweet render WIPS while I playing with lighting.

Tarmac update

Here is a small update while I'm away from the computer. Finished the wheel last week. Added detail with bolts, air valve, brake caliper and rotor. Included the tire and modeled its tread too.

2004 Volkswagen .:R32 Huge update!!!

Well I've gone from nurbs to polys. Something I'm used to working with. I really like nurbs and I'm in shock with how fast you can shape out a car.

Still have a little bit of work to do before its finished. Little details here and there left to do.

2004 Volkswagen .:R32 update

So in my hard surface modeling class I decided to model out a 2004 Volkswagen R32. I own one of these incredible machines myself.. which might have been one reason why I wanted to model it. We are having to use Nurbs modeling process which in it's self is new to me. It was a little rough and tricky at first but the more I have been modeling the more familiar I am getting with the tools.
